Catherine Ye

Catherine Ye

Catherine Ye is a Partner at Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors and is taking over the leadership of the firm alongside Herbert Tuck, following the transition from founding partners David Sparrow and Therese Trieu.

Catherine has been an integral part of the firm for over 15 years, developing a strong reputation in commercial property law. Her extensive experience includes advising on complex and high-value commercial transactions, with particular expertise in the hospitality and retail sectors. Over the years, she has assisted numerous clients in securing premises and establishing businesses, helping to open some of London's most well-known and successful restaurants.

Catherine graduated from King's College London and BPP University, and combines strong legal training with many years of practical experience advising commercial clients.

Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Shanghainese, Catherine is able to support a diverse international client base and has built longstanding relationships within London's business community.

Having spent much of her career at Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors, Catherine brings continuity, deep institutional knowledge, and a strong commitment to the firm's clients as she leads the practice into its next chapter.

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys collecting vintage antiques, detective fictions, watching Asian dramas, and travelling.

Herbert Tuck

Herbert Tuck is a Partner at Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors and is part of the new leadership of the firm alongside Catherine Ye, following the transition from founding partners David Sparrow and Therese Trieu.

Herbert joined the firm in 2025 and brings with him a broad and modern legal background spanning immigration law, family law, intellectual property, and commercial law. His practice focuses on advising individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses on complex legal matters, particularly where international, commercial, and regulatory issues intersect.

Prior to joining Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors, Herbert worked in-house at a UK-based automotive technology start-up, where he advised on emerging technologies, intellectual property, and commercial contracts. This experience gives him a strong understanding of the legal and commercial challenges faced by modern businesses and fast-growing companies.

Herbert is a graduate of the University of Westminster Law School, The University of Law, and Harvard Business School, combining legal training with a strong commercial perspective.

Alongside his legal work, Herbert has a keen interest in automotive culture, technology, and international travel. He is committed to helping modernise and expand the firm's services while maintaining the trusted client relationships that Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors has built over decades.

Victoria Giles

03 — Senior Solicitor — Residential Real Estate

Victoria Giles

Victoria Giles remains the most senior practising solicitor at Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors and continues to lead the firm's residential conveyancing department, playing an instrumental role in both the firm's strategic direction and the delivery of high-quality client service.

With over 20 years of experience in residential property law, Victoria brings a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise to the firm. She trained and practised at international City law firms, where she developed a strong reputation for handling complex and high-value property transactions with precision and efficiency.

Victoria is widely trusted by clients for her practical approach, attention to detail, and ability to manage transactions smoothly from instruction through to completion. Her experience spans a broad range of residential matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, high-value transactions, and complex title issues.

As head of the residential conveyancing department, Victoria ensures that the firm maintains its reputation for reliability, responsiveness, and excellence in client care, while also mentoring junior members of the team and upholding the highest professional standards.

Outside of work, Victoria enjoys running marathons and travelling with her family.

Kamonpat Ngamlikitlert

04 — Thai Solicitor & UK Paralegal — Immigration Law

We are pleased to welcome Kamonpat ("Pui") Ngamlikitlert to Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors, who joined the firm at the end of 2025. Pui is a qualified lawyer in Thailand with over 11 years of legal experience, and she is currently working towards qualifying as a solicitor in the United Kingdom. She brings valuable international legal experience and a strong academic background to the firm.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Thammasat University, graduating with Second Class Honours, and a Master's degree in International Tax Law from King's College London.

In the UK, Pui focuses on immigration, family law, and tax law, supporting clients with both domestic and cross-border matters. Her previous legal practice in Thailand includes extensive experience in criminal and civil law, giving her a broad and practical understanding of legal systems across jurisdictions.

Outside of work, Pui enjoys playing the piano and swimming. During her time off she enjoys eating out with friends and discovering new restaurants around London. She also has a keen interest in learning new languages and is fluent in Thai, Mandarin, and English!

We are delighted to have Pui as part of the team and look forward to supporting her journey to qualification in England and Wales.

David Sparrow

05 — Consultant — Family Law, Dispute Resolution, Wills & Probate

David Sparrow, one of the founding partners of Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors, established the firm over 35 years ago with the vision of creating a trusted legal practice serving the diverse communities of London's Chinatown and beyond. Through his dedication and leadership, the firm grew to become one of the pre-eminent legal practices in the area, known for its practical advice, strong client relationships, and commitment to the community.

David has extensive experience across a number of practice areas, with particular expertise in divorce and family law, immigration matters, and private client work, as well as advising on a range of complex and high-value legal matters. Over the decades, he has acted for individuals, families, and businesses, building a reputation for clear guidance, discretion, and dependable legal support.

Although he has stepped back from day-to-day management of the firm, David continues to remain involved as a consultant, providing strategic guidance and sharing his many years of experience with the next generation of partners.

His legacy remains central to the values and reputation of Sparrow & Trieu Solicitors, and we are proud that he continues to be part of the firm.

Outside of work, David is a keen train enthusiast with a collection of train models from all over the world.
